Recently, Zoomlion Concrete Machinery’s revolutionary new energy product, the CIF ENERGYA Series green hybrid power mixer received the Red Dot Design Award, an international industrial design award, which is the first time that a product from construction machinery industry receives this honour.
Red Dot Design Award, which has more than 50 years history, was established by Germany famous design association Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. The award attracts over 10 thousands works from more than 60 countries every year through the competition of product design, communication design and design concept. The award-winning works can get the chance to exhibit in Red Dot Museum in Essen, German, and to attend the award ceremony. This award is regarded as the “Oscar” in international industrial design field.
Within the industry, this award is the most authoritative “quality assurance” on the appearance and quality of a product. At the same time, winning products will also receive widest promotion and recognition. Therefore, it is a proud achievement for all the designers in the world.
The ENERGYA Series green hybrid power mixer is the only hybrid power concrete mixer with a plug-in feature in the world. It facilitates both electrical and diesel power, offering the perfect combination of practicality and efficiency. The machine marks a new chapter in history where high-end technology and sustainable development can go hand in hand.
The mixing tube of conventional mixer is powered by the hydraulic device of the engine, while for the ENERGYA Series, the tube can be driven by a rechargeable lithium battery which can be recharged in three ways: through a special charging system, a power grid of 380V or a generator. With multiple charging options, the time required is short as well: using the special charging system provided by CIFA, the battery can be completed charged within 18 minutes; if a 380V power grid is used, the battery can be charged in around 4 hours. At the same time, the ENERGYA is also equipped with a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) that converts the kinetic energy of the engine into sustainable power while the vehicle is traveling at a lower speed. On top of that, performance enhancement, such as low noise, zero emission and low radiation, ensure that the product is healthier and greener.
Adalberto Marcello, the marking manager of CIFA and Emanuele Zorzi, the mixer technology manager, attended the award ceremony and said, “we are very happy to receive this award, especially since this is the first time that a product from construction machinery industry has won the Red Dot Award.”
In order to strike a perfect balance between aesthetic designs and product functionality, CIFA engineers created a product design team featuring numerous world-class designers. Drawing inspirations from aerospace products, the team came up with a design concept that features the sleekness and strong basic functionality of aerospace designs. The working result is the ENERGYA Series new generation mixer, a product that combines high performance, low energy consumption, environmental concepts, aesthetic and modern design into one.
The Red Dot Musem reserved a premium spot for the ENERGYA Series and illustrated the highlights of the machine through visual effects and text descriptions.
